Saint Fort claimed that he did not believe in anything and set about to upset the scientific orthodoxy by cataloging recorded occurences that science could not explain, phenomena which we now refer to as "fortean". To drive home the point that certainty is impossible, Fort created his own utterly ridiculous cosmology, including a sky made of gelatin. The Fortean Times carries on Saint Fort's work, much in the same spirit.
